Here, at Thomas the Caterer, January has got off to a fantastic start! There’s been zero time for January blues with awards ceremonies to mingle at, and most importantly summer weddings to sort out. We’re already excited for Thomas Towers to become the hub of catering creativity which made 2015 so categorically awesome. Again!
In our latest blog, we thought we’d look ahead to when it’s slightly hotter and dryer outside (we hope!) and get planning your summer wedding catering! We’re certain that there’s going to be more kissing shacks, more bespoke menUs and definitely more brownies than ever before!
So, don’t let the cold and frosty weather put you off. Have a read below of some of our summer wedding catering ideas to give you some inspiration and as always, please don’t hesitate to get in touch to discuss any potential plans. We’re always happy to answer any questions or queries and more importantly to start making memories again come summer 2016!
Summer Wedding Menu Ideas
Keeping it light and refreshing is the answer to getting the party started at a summer wedding! That’s why refreshing aperitifs are the perfect way to beat the heat. Good seasonal aperitifs include the cosmopolitan, old fashioned and everyone’s favourite the mojito! Enjoy them ice cold pre dinner and your guests are sure to be too hot to handle on the dancefloor later on.
At TTC, we want awesomeness to ooze from your bespoke MenU. In summer, there’s some great seasonally accented appetisers guaranteed to refresh and revitalise all your guests. With the sun beating down, guests can expect all sorts of refreshing starters to combat the heat. For example, prosciutto and melon will keep things light and ensure your guests still have room for the main event.
It’s time to heat things up! Ditch those heavy mains favoured in the winter and get the grill warmed up. It’s the barbecue season so why not go for high-class picnic style food rather than the traditional fare – it’s an innovative and refined way to go, whilst keeping everything low maintenance.
For dessert, its best to stick with the lighter flavours so your guests don’t feel too sluggish later on! My brand new idea for a kissing shack could fit the bill entirely. Don’t forget to check out my blog for all the details. It’s a unique, fun way to get your guests up off the tables and mingling so take a look.
