A real Derbyshire wedding – Mari and Ben Gluten free wedding
Wow!
What a way to start the wedding season in Derbyshire, than at Standlow self catering cottages near Ashbourne, this pleace is really geared up for a wedding party to descend on it with beautiful views over the peak district, an abundance of accommodation for your guests, and a big green area for you to hire a Tipi or a Marquee to host your guests!
This is the awesome Derbyshire venue Ben & Mari chose to host their Tipi wedding, Ben and Mari live in Norway where Mari hails from, Ben is an englishman Living abroad, and rather sweetly they decided to come to Bens home land to get hitched!
Mari and Ben had thought a lot about their gluten free wedding catering and wanted to make a menu truly bespoke and as you know Thomas the caterer can’t quote for wedding Catering unless we meet you, but as there was the North sea as a barrier we had a lot of FaceTime calls and emails to make sure we had the correct menu to suit this creative couple here it is:
The Menu
Canapes on arrival
Goats cheese and mango chutney crouton,
Crab lime and ginger mayonnaise cucumber roll,
Blue cheese and beef aranchini
Hoi sin duck pancakes
Starter Alternate drop.
Poached salmon and asparagus terrine, salad of pancetta, parmesan and rocket,
&
Grilled hulloumi salad on toasted bulgar wheat oven dried tomatoes and red pepper and herb salad
Main course
Braised and roasted pork shoulder with confit onions and fennel seed, sweet potato fries, spring green vegetables and aioli.
Apple sauce served separately.
Dessert (Please choose one for the whole party)
Red berry & lemon cheese cake lemon jelly, strawberries raspberries and blue berries, Gluten free.
I think what is most special about this wedding and really unique was the gluten free wedding catering , due to the brides allergy. Yes!….. Well just the Duck pancakes weren’t gluten free, so it can be done and it can be super tasty!
